Take Advantage of The Magic of Compounding<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the biggest reasons to start investing early is the <strong>power of compounding<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Compounding happens when you earn interest on your interest, and it can add up over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if you start with a small amount invested regularly, the magic of compounding can have a snowball effect, and you&#8217;ll be surprised at how much money you&#8217;ve managed to save.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Picture this: if you start investing just \u00a350 per month at age 25, by the time you turn 65, you&#8217;d have contributed \u00a324000 in 40 years, but, taking an average return of 7%, you would have over \u00a3119,781!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>That&#8217;s compounding<\/strong> working its miracle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, to give you a perspective into why you should start investing as early as possible, let&#8217;s look at the difference it would make in the above example if you start investing when you&#8217;re 35 vs 25 in the above example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To save \u00a324000, you&#8217;ll need to contribute about \u00a367 each month (\u00a317 more) to cover the 10-year delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ll again assume the average return for the money to grow at 7% annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, here&#8217;s the shocking part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The same total amount invested over time (\u00a324,000) will now grow to only \u00a375,000 as now the money has 30 years to grow. That&#8217;s \u00a3 44,781 less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s the magic of compounding &#8211; it can make a difference over time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sooner you start investing, your money will have more time to grow as you leave it in the lap of the compounding gods for a more extended period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even a small amount invested regularly can have a big difference in the long run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is compounding?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Quite simply, compounding is when you earn interest on your original investment as well as on the reinvested interest. This means that the longer you allow your money to grow, the more potential for exponential growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, let&#8217;s say you invest \u00a3100 at a rate of return of five percent per year. At the end of the first year, you will have \u00a3105 (\u00a3100 plus five percent of \u00a3100). The following year, you will have \u00a3110.25 (\u00a3105 plus five percent of \u00a3105). And the year after that, your initial \u00a3100 will grow to \u00a3115.76 (\u00a3110.25 plus five percent of \u00a3110.25), and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you can see, the more time your money has to grow, the faster it will compound \u2014 and the more money you will ultimately have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Compounding can turn a small sum of money into a large fortune over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. You Don&#8217;t Need a Lot of Money to Get Started<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This one ties into my above example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because you&#8217;re starting early, the amount you need to put aside towards investments could be tiny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, you can get started with as little as \u00a31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, that&#8217;s right. As you can see in the example I showed you above, \u00a350 per month can make a difference over time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So even if you&#8217;re <a data-lasso-id=\"2232\" href=\"https:\/\/www.comparism.com\/save-money-fast-on-low-income\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"3889\">starting with a tight budget<\/a>, there&#8217;s no excuse not to start investing. You&#8217;re in a Lower Tax Bracket<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you start investing in your twenties, you&#8217;ll likely be in a lower tax bracket than you will be when you&#8217;re older.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That means you&#8217;ll pay less tax on your investment income, which can add up over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the UK, you can invest up to \u00a320,000 in an ISA, and any profits or dividends you earn wrapped in the ISA are entirely tax-free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, any profits you generate on assets up to \u00a312,300 carries no tax under the Capital Gains Tax (CGT).
